  1. You can substitute apples, squash or white potatoes with sweet potatoes. And you just may want to do that to get all of the healthy benefits!

  2. They are high in fiber (4 grams), and about 20% of that is soluble fiber (the kind that can help lower cholesterol.  More fiber means you feel fuller faster & blood sugar levels are more stable.

  3. Sweet potatoes are loaded with Vitamin A, with 377% of RDA!  This helps keep your liver healthy & fight off infections.

  4. Being packed with tons of vitamins and minerals, like A, C B6, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, and especially choline, sweet potatoes are a great anti-inflammatory food, which can help improve overall health and longevity.

  5. An easy way to whip up some sweet potatoes & keep the nutrients is to cut into cubes & steam for 6-8 minutes.  Leave the skin on for the most fiber, and serve with a meat or source of fat to get the most out of the beta carotene.  A perfect veggie to balance a meal!
