Still hard and haven’t eaten yet.

    • Jennifer Pinti (store manager)

Yes, avocados are not a tree-ripened fruit, so they do arrive hard. You can place them in a brown paper bag & they’ll ripen in as fast as a day or two. Hope that helps!

    ARE NOT RIPE

    • Janis Garcia (store manager)

      Hi Jacquelyne,
Thanks for your comments. We always appreciate the good and the criticism. It’s new info for most people (I learned it working here!) but avocados are always picked hard and green. They ripen off the tree rather than on like most fruit. We get our avocados fresh every week from local orchards around north county so you will always get them this way. They will ripen in a few days on your counter. Put them next to some other fruit to help them ripen faster and if you’re not ready to eat once they soften a bit you can put them in the refrigerator and they’ll stay as is for about a week or so. (though their skin will turn black, the flesh will be green still )
